The University of Tampere Foundation sr was established in 1973 when the University of Tampere became public university. According to the Foundation’s charter, the Foundation’s purpose is to support activities and research conducted at Tampere University in the following fields:

disciplines at the Faculty of Social Sciences: health sciences, history, literary studies, logopedics, philosophy, psychology, social research, public health and epidemiology

computer science, information studies, languages, media studies, communications and performing arts
